Apple Releases IOS 8 Beta 5: Compatibility Improvement With OSX Making Devices More Integrated
Two weeks after Apple released iOS Beta 4, and nearly two months after the new software was pre-viewed at the Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple has now released its 5th Beta update for iOS for developers. It has witnessed the most comprehensive improvements on the beta version of the software.
One of the newest and most significant change is that the new beta 5 has a better integration with OSX through continuity. This is specifically a feature that allows you to start a project on a device and pick up where you left off on another. More new changes include the introduction of Wi-Fi calling, an improved health app, SMS relay and new iClouds icons. One of the most anticipated features of the iOS 8 though is SMS relay. It can be toggled by a pop-up menu if a MacBook with OSX Yosemite has been detected in your iCloud. This feature not only allows you to send and reply all your iMessages from your Mac, but it also applies to the users who do not have an iOS device.
Wi-Fi calling can be toggled on and off, for the T-Mobile users and once it is turned on, it will read the wireless subscribers name then followed by Wi-Fi. This is a feature which could come in very handy for you if you do not have any cellular coverage or if your wireless subscriber goes ahead to turn off your service. There is a new iPhoto feature which allows you to download and access versions of you photo which are of high resolution for your iCloud. It is important to note that keeping your low resolution versions of photos could also be important as it helps to save storage space. You can simply switch off the predictive text feature which is new to iOS 8 if you do not wish to use it.
There are other small changes that come with the Beta 5 which include a new sound after voice messages are sent, and it also features an improvement in the speed of accessing the spotlight feature. The next iOS beta is expected in the next 2 or 3 weeks as Apple pushes new features for developers.
