The Kingsmen Offer New Rendition of Treasured Favorite, "Wish You Were Here"

The Kingsmen's most recent radio single is nearing the top of the Southern Gospel airplay charts, but the legendary group continues to keep fans on their toes with new singles, including their latest for Horizon Records, a remake of a treasured favorite from more than 30 years ago - "Wish You Were Here."
Gently updated and given even greater emotional weight with a more measured tempo, the new Kingsmen take on the classic will summon precious memories for listeners familiar with the original while introducing a new generation to a truly timeless classic and its postcard-from-Heaven message:
Wish you were here
It's such a beautiful place
Wish you were here
Nothing but clear sunny days
Well it never rains
And no one complains
And we haven't seen a tear
We're having a great time
Wish you were here
"Sometimes the best vocal performances are born from life experience," notes the group's Alan Kendall. "At our Big & Live 50th Anniversary Concert a couple years back, Cole Watson made time come to a standstill with his stunning performance of this classic in memory of his father, Mike Watson. We then knew we needed to capture his version in the studio, and we experienced that same stunning magic as Cole poured his heart through his vocals. It is easily the most overcome with emotion I have been with this song since I heard Tim Surrett so flawlessly sing it all those years ago. We had church to this longtime favorite all over again. I hope everyone feels the same heart, emotion, and most of all, the beautiful hope that comes with this song."
"Wish You Were Here" is streaming in Dolby Atmos spatial audio on Apple Music, Amazon Music and TIDAL. Listen to it HERE.
