Archer Renewed For Season 6 With 13 Episodes, Set for 2015
Great news for Archer fans, FX network has decided to keep the series longer after season 5. With the first season premiering on January 14, 2010; the series has definitely been around for quite a long time. The series has been really doing well with over a million total viewers for each episode.
To add more to the excitement, the adult-comedy animated television series has been renewed not just for season 6 but also for season 7. Both new confirmed seasons will have 13 episodes each.
Created by Adam Reed, the Archer series' inspiration came about when Reed was in a cafe in Salamanca, Spain thinking about ways to approach a beautiful woman nearby; but later was unable to do so. He conceived the idea of a spy who would have the perfect effective line that will work wonders with the beautiful woman.
At the start of season 5, FX and crew decided to change the name to Archer Vice. The current season revolves around the team of master spy Sterling Archer discovering that International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS) wasn't really put under a punishment. Add to that all the adventures of the team being embroiled with a gang of smugglers, drug dealers, cocaine deals, all sorts of professional criminals, and that Malory has been working with CIA all along.
Executive producer Matt Thompson teases that season 6 will get to see the involvement of the CIA, as well as Agent Holly and Christian Slater character will both be back. He also adds that they are going to bring back huge spy missions and disclosing about possibble guest-stars he would like for the show, particularly to have Daniel Craig playing a transverstite, Jeffrey Donovan and Nick Kroll.
Archer will return for season 6 first quarter next year.
