iPad Air 2 release date, latest news plus other interesting info: Apple's newest tablet to be launched by October; will have more memory and split-screen multi-tasking features
iPad Air 2 latest news: if previous Apple product launch event schedules are an accurate indicator of things to come, then fans can expect the iPad Air 2 release date for October 2014.
Observers believe Apple will have a special event slated in October to announce the release of the iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3, and iWatch before the latest additions to Apple's product portfolio hit the shelves in November.
iPad Air 2 specs leaked online indicate that it will have a 2GB RAM, a welcome boost to the 1GB currently available in all iPad devices. The added memory will give iPad Air 2 the power and flexibility to support split-screen multitasking features. Users will now be able to run several apps simultaneously with less the hassle.
iPad Air 2 will also be fitted out with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, an A8 processor, an 8 megapixel rear camera, and a 1.5 megapixel front camera.
Meanwhile, rumors have it that the iPad Mini 3 might also be known as the iPad Mini Air. The iPad Mini 3 will be 5.25 mm thick, 30 percent thinner and most likely lighter than its predecessor, the iPad Mini 2. It might also have an A8 processor and an 8 megapixel iSight camera. It will retail at the same price as the iPad Mini Retina.
