The versatile director's The Hateful Eight gets a green light from The Weinstein Company who agreed to distribute the film, and is expected for a 2015 release date.
The Weinstein company recently signed a pact with Tarantino for the film's production. It would seem that ever since the leakage of the original script, there were doubts if the movie will push through. But with this partnership, it looks like the road ahead is cemented for a feature film premiere.
The Hateful Eight would be captured in a western post-Civil War scenery which will be shot on 65mm film and have the widest 70mm film release in more than 20 years, according to a press release. Principal photography will start on January.
The Hateful Eight plot will center on bounty hunters returning human plunders in exchange for a hefty reward when they run into a Southerner along the road. The fictional town will be called Red Rock. The story unfolds as they retreat to a haberdashery to take shelter from an oncoming blizzard.
The Hateful Eight cast is not yet confirmed, although Kurt Russell, Jennifer Lawrence, Evan Rachel Wood, Geena Davis and Hilary Swank are possible contenders. But we will dish out the latest on who is on the running as we get word out from Tarantino himself.
Tarantino is famous for his unique directing skills and scriptwriting. He partnered with The Weinstein company before with hits like 1992's Reservoir Dogs and 2012's Django Unchained. With this collaboration, the company certainly is a fan of Tarantino's approach to uncanny storytelling.
Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight release date will be on the fall of 2015. Stay tuned for more news about the movie.
