Sony Project Morpheus News, Release date, and Specs: Sony's entry to the 3D Gaming Market still under development, Launch still Unknown
Sony Project Morpheus news: Sony Computer Entertainment's virtual reality (VR) headset is still in the prototype stages and won't be in the market this 2014.
"Yes. That we can say comfortably because we are still making changes to the hardware," confirmed by Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Worldwide Studios.
The team is still fine tuning the Sony Project Morpheus specs, as they want users to have an immersive gaming experience - it's as if they're right there on the scene.
Sony Project Morpheus is designed to be compatible with Sony PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. Its features include a high field of view, 6 Degrees of Freedom head-tracking, stereoscopic 3D, and an unwarped TV output so that other people can see what the user experiences.
VR headsets - what everyone thought of as gadgets of science fiction movies - is now a reality. The Oculus Rift VR headset paved the way for companies such as Sony to enhance the gaming experience of users. Exclusively for 3D gaming, Oculus Rift was developed by California tech firm Oculus. Oculus Rift developer kits are available for US$350.
As for the Sony Project Morpheus price, Yoshida is quick to assure Sony fans that it won't cost as much as US$1,000 to make it more affordable to more consumers.
