NBA 2K15 News: LeBron James Rated Higher Than Game Cover's Kevin Durant
NBA 2K15 release date is October 7, as announced by game publisher 2K Sports, but fans already know that the Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James was rated higher than Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant, who incidentally will be appearing on the official NBA 2K15 cover.
Last year, James was on the 2K14 game's cover following being named MVP so it is only fitting that this time around, new NBA Kevin Durant MVP is also the NBA 2K15 cover athlete. Of course, Durant modestly told his fans in a Twitter message that ""I begged them to put me on the cover. I don't think anybody plays the game [@NBA2K] as much as I do. It's so authentic." -@KDTrey- NBA 2K 2K15 (@NBA2K) May 6, 2014." Durant also made the cover of the 2K13 video game, but back then he shared the coveted glory space with two others - Chicago Bulls' Derrick Rose and Los Angeles' Clippers' Blake Griffin.
The distinction of having appeared the most number of times on the cover of the NBA 2K series of the basketball video games belong to Allen Iverson who played for 14 seasons for four NBA teams. He was cover athlete for five consecutive years - from the maiden release of the game on October 10, 1999 (NBA 2K) to the fifth year edition "ESPN NBA Basketball" on October 21, 2003. Iverson is followed by Shaquille O'Neal with two covers (NBA 2K6 and NBA 2K7). The other players who made the honors are Ben Wallace (NBA 2K5), Chris Paul (NBA 2K8), Kevin Garnett (NBA 2K9), Kobe Bryant (NBA 2K10), and Michael Jordan (NBA 2K11). For the NBA 2K12, buyers can choose among three covers - Michael Jordan, Larry Bird or Magic Johnson.
For the upcoming NBA 2K15 game, Kevin Durant was given a 95 overall rating, but LeBron James got a 98. Last year, James got a rating of 100.
The NBA 2K15 PC next gen release will have more superior graphical fidelity than the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions according to a report from GameSpot. The minimum NBA 2K15 system requirements are: a Windows 7 64 bit or higher OS, an Intel Core2 Duo or better processor, 2 or more GB RAM, DirectX 10.1 compatible (512 MB) or better graphics, a Version 11 DirectX, 50 or more GB available hard-drive space, a 9.0c compatible sound card, and a keyboard or dual-analog gamepad.
