Caution! iPhone 6 'Bends' Be Careful About Putting It in Your Pocket [VIDEO]
There were rumors that the new iPhone 6 bends, when users put it inside their pockets. These rumors had been going around the Internet for the past couple of days. Several photos surface online showing a bent iPhone 6.
A video was posted by Unbox Therapy to see if the rumors were true. It is sad but true- the new iPhone 6 Plus bends. There has been no comment from Apple if what happened in the video is really possible and what can users do about it.
It is important to note that the iPhone 6 Plus, in the video, was "purposely bent" to prove or disprove that iPhone 6 do bend. Users should not do it and as Lewis Hilsenteger said, what he did was "all in the name of science." Hilsenteger added, "Bottom line here is it's an aluminum phone, it is going to bend if you apply enough pressure."
The issue that the new iPhone 6 bends is so widespread that most are waiting for any kind of statement from Apple, but apparently, no one is mentioning it on the User's Forum. Some believed that it is not necessary for Apple to comment on the matter.
Experts believed that the problem originated from iPhone 6 anodized aluminum frame. The process of anodizing can make the material stronger, the metal characteristics of aluminum poses a problem for Apple. Aluminum is naturally sort and is bendable by human hands.
Is this an intentional feature or was it really a mistake on Apple's part? Didn't they conduct their own bend test before releasing iPhone 6 and IPhone 6 Plus?
It is important to note that this kind of problem is not isolated to iPhone 6 only. It has been reported that Sony's Xperia phone does bend as well as Samsung's Galaxy Note 3.
