The Vampire Diaries' season 6 Spoilers: After Effects of Damon's Death
The fifth season of "Vampire Diaries" ended with Bonnie and Damon sacrificing their lives and dying. Despite these events, executive producer Caroline Dries said in an interview with E! News that Damon will have a lot of scenes in the coming season. This will be made possible through flashbacks. Season six will have multiple flashbacks including ones that go back to an "era we haven't seen before." These flashbacks will tie up a number of storylines.
Dries also made it clear that Enzo will not appear in the premiere episode. Instead, his first appearance in the season will be on the second episode. He will have some grand plans with regards to Damon.
Speaking of Enzo, fans should expect some flirty moments between him and Caroline. As a result, he will clash with Matt Donovan. According to Dries, "they will not be the best of friends."
Aside from all these, it would also be best to take a closer look at Stefan. He lost his brother in season 5 so it would be understandable if he would undergo some radical changes in this coming season. Fans should not expect him to be exactly as he was. He, along with all the other characters will be, in varying degrees, affected by Damon and Bonnie's deaths.
Lastly, a new villain will surface in this coming season. Particularly intriguing is that this new villain will be unique from all the other that the show has had so far. According to showrunner Julie Plec, during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, this new villain will not be redeemable as was all the others before. This could only mean that this new enemy will be truly dark and evil.
"Vampire Diaries" season 6 will hit televisions on Oct. 2 at 8pm EST.
