Lamp Mode Recordings Announces Jason "Json" Watson as First President of the Label

Lamp Mode Recordings is kicking off the New Year with a major executive change. Label owner Joshua Wann has brought in Jason "Json" Watson be the company's new president. Wann, who also goes by DJ Essence said Watson's character and integrity both on and off stage led him to being a pretty clear choice for the job. "It really became obvious that he was the ideal candidate, based on not only who he was as an artist, but on who he was as a person, as Jason Watson," explains Wann. Watson's hiring marks the first president in Lamp Mode history. Joshua mainly handled presidential duties previously. Now Wann will have the time to focus on being the label's creative director and developing new ways to visually present the company. Keeping things in the family, Jason has been signed on to the label as an artist since 2008. His marketing and branding contributions to Lamp Mode during his time signed to the company propelled him to president in 6 short years. "I'm looking for someone who understands music, theology and business. Jason obviously exhibits the ability to do all three of those," Joshua said. There won't be any drastic changes in regards to the company's fundamental philosophy. Instead Jason wants to flesh out a clearing understanding of what the Lamp Mode Recordings brand is. "The goal is within the next year people should feel like they've seen a turn for the better with Lamp Mode. If not, then I haven't done my job," said Jason.
