'One Direction Movie:' A Big Hit On The Big Screen
1D fans proved their power and unwavering support for their favorite boy band once more. The British-Irish pop boy band One Direction, once again hit the charts as its latest concert movie, "One Direction: Where We Are," made it in the U.K. Box Office.
In its launching week, it raked an estimated $15-million across 80 countries.
In a report by Arts Alliance, a UK-based organizer of the movie screenings, around 1.2-million people have watched the movie. It's even predicted to surpass other box office films especially that the movie is still on its first week of showing.
The concert movie was shot from the group's show in Milan. The management of One Direction views this as a major success not only for the group but for the entire fans of the boy band as well.
One Direction is composed of pop singers Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. The group rose to stardom when they joined the UK's The X Factor Season 7 in 2010.
After joiniang the X Factor, the group has been continuously gaining millions of fans worldwide. Their hit albums included Up All Night (2011), Take Me Home (2012) and Midnight Memories (2013).
They have also won many recognitions and awards. Among these are four awards from the MTV Video Music Awards and another four awards from Brit Awards. In 2012, One Direction was proclaimed as the Billboard's Top New Artist. Their albums also made history in US Billboard 200 as the first band to have three album debuts at the topmost spot.
Their hit songs include "What Makes You Beautiful, Story of My Life, and to Live While We're Young." In a report by the Sunday Times Rich List, the group has a combined wealth of $41.2-million as of April 2013.
Meanwhile, the One Direction's concert movie is a sure treat for its millions of fans across the globe. Despite the controversies involving some of its members, the group continuously maintain its millions of followers. The group is one of the most in-demand artists of today as construed by their series of world tours and concerts as well as numerous awards from different music awarding giving bodies.
