Foo Fighters Perform 'Something From Nothing' from New Album 'Sonic Highways' on Letterman Show, Watch Here (VIDEO)
The Foo Fighters spent last week in New York City with "Late Show with David Letterman". They closed out their last night on the CBS late night show performing their new song "Something From Nothing". You can watch the performance above.
"Something From Nothing" is the new single form the band's new album Sonic Highways, which releases on November 10th.
The week-long residency also comes at the same time of the premiere of Grohl's documentary series, also titled Sonic Highways, which premiered on HBO on October 17th.
"This isn't just the making of our most ambitious album," Grohl said in the preview. "This is a love letter to the history of American music."
They released a press release that explains: "One song was recorded in each city, every song featuring local legends sitting in, and every lyric written in an unprecedented experimental style: Dave held off on putting down words until the last day of each session, so as to be inspired by the experiences, interviews and personalities that became part of the process. Each episode delves into the singular regional identity of each city-how each region shaped these musicians in their formative years, and in turn the impact those people had on the cultural fabric of their hometowns-ultimately celebrating their common bond: Every artist that appears in the show, regardless of genre or locale, started as an average kid with the universal dreams of making music and making it big."
The series documented the Foo Fighters recording a different legendary studios in eight different cities including Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington, DC and New York.
