Carey's new album, The Art of Letting Go, is set to released on May 6th, 2014. This will be her fourteenth studio album and first record since 2009′s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. The first single "Beautiful" off of her upcoming album featuring Miguel peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. Carey started working on the album in 2011 but she got pregnant and took time to enjoy their new child with husband Nick Cannon. In January 2012 Cannon issued a statement saying, "My beautiful wife is planning to make her return to the music scene after taking time off to focus on the pregnancy and the birth of our two wonderful babies, Moroccan and Monroe. She's rejuvenated and ready to start sharing some of the amazing new music she has been making in the studio! Our new family has definitely given her a great new source of inspiration and creativity. I'm so proud of her and can't wait for her to release more phenomenal music!"
Mariah Carey burst onto the music scene with her self-titled debut album in 1990 and has become one of the biggest pop stars in the world. Her voice is heralded by many as the best of her generation. She has sold tens of millions of albums and had classic hits such as "Always Be My Baby," "One Sweet Day (featuring Boyz II Men)," "Dreamlover," "Emotions," and "Honey".
