The Fantastic Four 2015: Three Big Movie Spoilers
The Fantastic Four 2015: Three Big Movie Spoilers
Marvel's reboot of its upcoming Fantastic Four franchise, Fantastic Four 2015, throws a few sharp curveballs that we know so far:
1. Dr. Doom Is The Big Baddie Again - And He Brought His Doombot Buddies
Doctor Doom reprises his turn as the main villain in Fantastic Four 2015, this time played by Toby Kebbell (Wrath of the Titans) instead of Julian McMahon. In the 2005 movie version, Doctor Doom proved to be a serious adversary to the Fantastic Four but what if we add his Doombots to the evil equation? These powerful robotic replicas should multiply his threat factor even more!
2. Storyline Will Be A Coming-of-Age Tale
If you haven't been following the recent flurry of casting decisions - from Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm and Kate Mara as Sue Storm - and you will notice that they are in the prime of their youth, then this is no coincidence. The scriptwriters have revealed that they will be creating an origin story where all four superheroes are in their young 20s, presumably basking in the freedom of college life, and so will be forced into growing up fast and owning up to their new superhero identities in order to defeat Doctor Doom.
3. The Human Torch Will Be A Black Guy
The role of Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch has been locked down by Michael B. Jordan (Friday Night Lights) -- which is a big surprise since the impulsive, flame-wearing superhero has always been portrayed in the comics as a white guy. Jordan has played a superhero, albeit a telekinetic teenager in the sci-fi thriller Chronicle, so he could knock the role out of the ballpark and prove all the naysayers wrong.
