"The Office" premiered on NBC in 2005 and became one of the most beloved comedies of the last 10 years. The show already has a classic cult like following with the show in heavy syndication on TBS, TNT and USA.
However, before all of the beloved characters we came to know and love, Michael Scott (Steve Carrell), Jim (John Krasinski), Pam (Jenna Fischer) and Dwight (Rainn Wilson) among others, writer Greg Daniels and his staff went through the audition process like everyone else.
Some of the audition footage surfaced last year for the hit NBC comedy (which you can watch above) and some very famous faces make appearances. Seth Rogen as Dwight? Adam Scott as Jim? Also several other names that you (or at least faces) that you will recognize.
It's amazing how we tie faces to characters and almost can't imagine someone else playing that role. We forget how important those production meetings decisions are that choose the final castings roles. They can make or break a show or set a whole career for an actor with a name they are known as for life.
"The Office" was on for nine seasons, with the first five being the highest of the show. The final few seasons just didn't have the same appeal, however you wanted to keep watching just because you loved the characters and wanted to see how the show ended up. The series received 42 Primetime Emmy Awards nominations, with five wins.
