Marcus Jordan Cracks Top-30 with "I Can"
Marcus Jordan cracks Billboard's Top 30 with the infectiously inspirational hit, "I Can." Jordan is no stranger to good music or the Billboard Gospel chart, having ascended to #1 with "Call On The Name" just last winter (February, 2023).
"This is an exciting moment for me," says Jordan, a Houston native. "I love to encourage people and give people a sense of hope through my music. Knowing that I have another song that people are gravitating to makes me know that I am doing the right thing."
A Houston native, Jordan left his career as a police officer to focus on his music ministry. The singer/songwriter seeks the Lord about the messages that he needs to put out, and every song he writes is birthed from this combination of prayer and meditation. The soulful "I Can" is a reminder that everything is possible with God.
"I Can" is resemblant of Jordan's immense talent and unflappable confidence. He began playing piano at age seven, after convincing his mother that he could. Soon after, he played regularly at local churches and eventually was sought after within the Houston music circuit.
Jordan crafted his sound and style while making his professional imprint as part of the house band Music World Entertainment, the music company helmed by Mathew Knowles. Though he was supporting some of the label's artists, including Solange Knowles, Trinitee 5:7 and Angie Stone, his desire to be an artist never changed. It wasn't until Solange Knowles complimented his voice during a fateful exchange that his dream began to actualize. The weight and worth of her words propelled Jordan beyond the keyboard and landed him on the very stages he once dreamed of.
Marcus Jordan's own life is full of "I Can" moments, which is part of what makes this song so powerful. The inspirational message strikes a chord with people who may need to be reminded of something that has been forgotten by many over time.
Marcus Jordan's message of possibility and positivity is striking a chord with listeners and music lovers, everywhere as "I Can" continues its upward trend at radio!
