'Attack on Titan' Season 2 Release Date Rumors, Two Live Action Films Coming
'Attack on Titan' Season 2 coming in 2015?
"The manga comic the anime is based on is still ongoing, and all of us on the staff are following and loving it," the studio head Joji Wada shared.
"Eventually, we definitely want to do a sequel. This year, though, we've got our hands full producing an anime that will be bundled in a limited edition of the Attack on Titan manga, which tells a different sort of story than what we did in the TV series."
While "Attack on Titan Season 2" has yet to air and with no release date yet, fans are still hoping it comes.
"Attack on Titan," or in Japanese "Shingeki No Kyojin," is set in a post-apocalyptic Earth where humanity is driven to the brink of extinction by man-eating giants called Titans. The story revolves around Eren Jaeger, a soldier in the Scouting Legion who swore to wipe Titans off the Earth after seeing his mother perish in the hands of one when he was younger. The manga series was written by Hajime Isayama.
The first season of the anime first aired in Japan on April 7, 2013 and ran until September 28, 2013. Fans have been anticipating a second season for some time now.
There are two live-action film adaptations in the works though and Haruma Miura was casted to play the lead role. The movie will be directed by Shinji Higuchi and will be developed and distributed by Japanese film production company Toho.
Crunchyroll has the full list of the cast, director and scriptwriter of the movie for Japan release.
Funimation has also announced the dub cast members of the film adaptation that will be released in the United States.
Attack on Titan will also be the newest addition to Universal Studios Japan (USJ). The park is looking to compete stronger with powerhouse parks like Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea.
