Pirates of the Caribbean 5 Release Date, Spoilers, Teasers and Review: Plot Issues Delay the Release Date, While Possible Plot Theories Could Prove Unpopular with the Audience
The fifth installment in the Pirates franchise keeps changing the release date. Originally it was thought, that the film would premiere by next July. This was moved to sometime in the summer of 2016. Now the latest reports peg the movie for a vague 2017 release. The most probable cause for the delay seems to be problems agreeing to the general direction of the script. Similarly, it would not be wise to go against the likes of Superman versus Batman, or Avengers, Ultron which will premiere next year. Jerry Bruckheimer though stated that he is for a straight pirate movie.
The last installments have all had some kind of mythical beast or quest. This sequel may focus more on the conniving nature of pirates themselves in trying to outsmart each other to reach their higher personal interests. This is a strategic move as concerns popularity ratings; the other mode gets old quickly and could develop into a bust at the box office. As such, it makes more sense to take things slow at this time. The franchise is worth 3.7 billion dollars at this time, and it would not make sense to run with a rushed script that could potentially ruin future market for the franchise. It is quite hard to keep up excitement for a movie franchise past the 3 or even the fourth movie, and yet here we are.
As for the plot for the upcoming movie, there are a few popularity problems the movie could suffer if these aspects go through unchecked. In the upcoming movie, Jack is supposed to have a new love interest who will be a man of science. This contradicts the previous movie plot that featured Angelica. She and Jack were perfectly alike and well matched. The audience may not respond as well to the new woman in his life. There other problem is they want to introduce a new couple to the scene, allegedly. If we look back and see Philip and Syrena, the audience did not like it very much. The movie already has its romance interest and that is in Will and Elizabeth. Apparently, Keira Knightley does not want to come back but Orlando Bloom does. He may return by himself, but that is yet to be seen.
