True Detective Season 2 Cast, Premiere Date And Rumors: Production Of Season 2 To Commence In September With Different Characters And A Different Setting
We have the latest for you on the cast, premiere date and rumors of season 2 of True Detective. Although there is no official announcement which could confirm the exact release date for True Detective" season 2, the fans are already discussing the casting and plot rumors.
The HBO Programming Head, Mike Lombardo, was speaking with the Guardian International Television Festival in Edinburgh with regards to the second season of the show. As quoted in the site, he said that the production of the season would start in September so that it can be slated for airing next summer. He also said that the upcoming season will have its own story, setting cast and period. He said, "It has different characters, a different setting. It's set in California, all of California. There are three cops. One of the characters is female. I think that's probably all I am allowed to say.
The interview continued and Lombardo revealed that he had read earlier parts of the scripts and the outlines for two subsequent episodes which were written by Nic Pizzolatto. He said, "The writing is better than last season. It is exceptional." Although he said that the upcoming season will have a lighter plot, he went ahead to emphasize the depth of the upcoming story. He said, "It's not as dark, but it is not a light ride. Nic likes looking into the crevices of the soul."
Further details indicated that there will be three or four directors who will be taking care of the second season's episodes. The names of the directors have however, not been revealed. This is good news to the fans as there is a ton of expectations about the new season of the show, thanks to there being a lot of live up. If the scripts are that solid, then all of the talk about the second season of the show needing to live up to the first might just be pointless as this is a different story, with a different cast, and a different setting, with exceptional scripts to boot. It is hoped that there are more details to be revealed about the casting and the characters that will feature in the upcoming season. Stay with us as we shall keep you updated about True Detective season 2 as more details become available.
