Alibaba IPO: Alibaba offering shares at $68 a pop!
The leading Asian e-commerce giant Alibaba fixed its public offering price at $68, which beats all the previous records of IPO shares in U.S. history. The company has offered a total of 320 million shares, wherein 21.8 billion dollars are going to be raised. This will overtakesthe 19.7 billion dollar offering of Visa Inc., which happened in 2008. In 2010, Agricultural Bank of China raised the IPO shares worth 22.1 billion dollars but if Alibaba goes on like this, then an aggregate of 48 million additional share grant would raise the fund to 25 billion dollars, beating the record of the Agricultural Bank of China's IPO share fund. In particular, 168 billion dollars would be the value of the company at the IPO price of 68 dollars per share.
Alibaba took control over the share market when they managed to received huge amount of bookings from September 8th in New York. They managed to achieve unassailable interest from the investors worth their company policy. The founder of Alibaba is Jack Ma and it was founded back in 1999. Alibaba has since managed to take control of over 80% of online sales in China.
Back in 2013, the company managed to grab 250 billion dollars merchandise shares, which was more than the combined amount of Amazon and eBay's value.
Alibaba is renowned for providing the Alipay system, which is a Paypal-like payment system to make sure that the transactions are safely made between the consumers and sellers. According to the company, they are trying to expand their business towards America and Europe.
On May 6, the IPO filings to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission was provided by Alibaba and it will start trading from Friday at the New York Stock Exchange with the brand name "BABA".
It has created a new era in the e-commerce market and after dominating Asia, the company is looking forward to expanding all over the world.
