Law & Order: SVU Season 16 Episode 3 Spoilers and Preview: Precinct 16th's Special Victims Unit Takes A Look At Some Of Show Business' Behind-The-Scene Goings On
In last week's Law & Order: SVU Season 16 episode 2 (American Disgrace), New York City Police Precinct 16th's Special Victims Unit was seen investigating the case of Orion Bay Sportswear press rep Carla Cannon's (played by Kelley Missal) allegation that she was raped by her company's highly valued product endorser, the retired basketball superstar Shakir "The Shark" Wilkins (played by Henry Simmons). This coming Wednesday, October 8, their next case will make them take a closer look at some of the things that happen behind-the-scene in the world of show business.
Entitled "Producer's Backend," in Law & Order: SVU Season 16 episode 3, according to NBC, "a fallen child star accuses Amaro of sexual assault, further jeopardizing his career." As gathered, the show will open with Amaro (Danny Pino) reporting to the scene of a car crash where he finds that a Hollywood starlet named Tensley Evans (played by guest star Stevie Lynn Jones) was involved. Tensely tries to charm and flirt her way out of an arrest, but Amaro will not be swayed. His able by-the-book handling of the drama-filled and tense situation at the police department created by the starlet earns him his old position back on the precinct's SVU squad. However, his first assignment brings him face to face again with his erstwhile accuser Tensely. Amaro was tasked to investigate the alleged statutory rape of a 15-year-old boy by the Hollywood starlet. But of course, Benson (played by Mariska Hargitay) wants to delve deeper. She suspects that there may be some underlying issues which may have caused Tensley to do the sort of things that she has increasingly become notorious for. It may be that the starlet is a special victim herself. Benson will take the initiative of looking into Tensley's past history.
Law & Order: SVU Season 16 episode 3 will also have regular cast Kelli Giddish (as Detective Amanda Rollins) and Raul Esparza (as ADA Rafael Barba). Aside from Jones, the other guest stars are Peter Scanavino (as Detective Carisi), Brian d'Arcy James (as Adam Brubeck), Dana Wheeler-Nicholson (as Donna Evans), Ron Rifkin (as Counselor Marvin Exley), Gary Milner (as Dennis George), Drigan Lee (as Brody Clark), Kaitlyn Bausch (as Maude Peterson) and Hoda Kotb (as herself).
