Jordan Smith Releases a New Album on iTunes & Makes iTunes History

Jordan Smith has not only won the crown on Season 9's "The Voice." But he has also topped the iTunes Album Chart with his newly compiled album for iTunes. The album is an 11-track compilation of songs which Smith sang on "The Voice," from "Chandelier" in the blind auditions through "Mary Did You Know?" in the finale.
It includes "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" and "Somebody to Love," both of which knocked Adele out of No. 1 on the iTunes singles charts the weeks they were performed. The album also includes his duets with contestant Regina Love, "Like I Can," and "The Voice" coach Adam Levine, "God Only Knows."
Smith has also made iTunes history on four accounts: first,he is the first to have every song from his live performances crack iTunes' Top 10 Singles chart Second, Smith is the first artist to land four songs in iTunes Top 10 Singles at the same time. Third, Smith was the first artist to sell 1 million singles on iTunes. Fourth, Smith and previous winner Cassadee Pope are the only artists from "The Voice" to notch three No. 1 songs during their seasons.
Moreover, being a committed Christian from the Church of God, Smith has also won a legion of Christian fans. Thus far, he has had two back to back Billboard Christian #1 singles. Smith's renditions of "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" and "Hallelujah" both reached No. 1 on consecutive weeks. That made Smith the first artist to replace himself at No. 1 on that chart, according to the record company.
Meanwhile, Smith has returned to his parents' home in the Harlan community of Coldiron. Harlan is just as excited to have Jordan Smith back as he is to be going home. "He represented Harlan County and Kentucky extremely well," Harlan County Judge Executive Dan Mosley said Tuesday, a few hours before Smith won the top-rated NBC talent competition. "Eastern Kentucky has been in a bad situation as a result of the economy, and this has given them hope."
